Virginia Tech Massacre
Around 7 am EDT, shots were fired leaving two dead in a co-ed dormitory in VA tech. 2 Hours later in the same university 31 students are also killed including the shooter himself. This is so sad I must say and whats even more difficult is to know what direction for me to take on this one. Who is to blame, whose fault is it? Why did this happen and how did this happen?
Warning signs about Seung Hui Cho came early in his life, His relatives said he was very quiet growing up. He responded to no one’s greeting, he was basically in his own world. Born in South Korea, migrated with his family at the age of 8 to The land of dreams in 1992. He graduated from his senior high without a single mention of his name or picture in the year book. I will also like to mention now that he was a green card holder and was in no way representing south korea. This is for later reference.
When you try to understand what drove a smart young man like him to do something like this, it is actually not that hard when you look at his history. Cho was detained in late 2005 for a pyschiatric assessment since he was considered a threat to himself/community. Here is where the first mistake was made by the government because according to existing law, someone detained can be banned from ever purchasing firearms. He has a 9 mm glock and .22 handgun at his disposal which is a semi-automatic pistol and he bought rounds from various places including EBAY, wallmart etc. Another known motive till today is his hatred for „rich kids“.
The world is going crazy that is all i can say, how someone who was obviously this crazy had access to a gun LEGALLY. So first i will like to point fingers to the law and the autority, they definitely have some blame to body on their shoulders. I would love to blame some of the bullies(since i have been victim early in life) but i really doubt it had much to do with bullies. This kid was by choice in his own world, he had pyschiatric issues and needed urgent help so at this point i will also like to point some fingers to his PARENTS. I know what you thinking now, how can you? They must have tried bla bla bla NULLUS. As parents it was there duty to make sure that there kids grow up properly and if they have any probléms thats they able to correct it. I mean i was reading in one site where a friend of cho’s sister said that she never even knew cho had a sister. So his isolation from the world also included an isolation from home, If i had any atom of craziness in me(which i prolly do lol) i know that my parents will be the first one to realise it before anything. This is another problem with society, his parents came out to say that they can’t believe that there son could ever do something like that. What are you slow?, the kid was detained in a pyschiatric home. He never used to talk to anyone, you never even kept in touch with your own kid. Maybe I am being to harsh on his parents? But it has to be done.
Moving on, I hope most of you managed to realise the fact that there was a 2 hour lapse between the two killing by allegedly the same person. After the first killing, the police went running after an innoncent man. While the university itself felt no need to inform the students or to lock down the campus, but instead continued like the life of 2 students were not just lost, i am guessing they needed 33 people dead before they could consider it enough for a lockdown/emergency. The final and probably the most important blame is on the university together with the law enforcement, it is a thing of disgust if they treat death according to the numer of people dead. 1,2,3,4,5 etc people dead all i herd is PEOPLE DEAD. Enough off all this rubbish already, i hope something is done to correct all of this and i hope it is not too little too late. Arghhh
I will like to dedicate this paragraph to certain people saying that if this was done by an arab then it would start WWIII. Like i have said this had nothing to do with south korea, but still the south korean government has apologised countless amounts of time. They have offered to give any assistance needed and that they are very ashamed of the situation, mind you this kid left South korea at the age of 8 and is a permanent Američan resident and has not been to the states since 1992 when he left. If it was an arab in the same circumstance I am very sure that no WWIII would be started. I can bet my money on it, SO PLEASE BURN.
